Katelyn celebrated her 1st Christmas this year. Wichita Falls received around 9 inches of snow on Christmas Eve. Crazy!!!! Thank goodness all of our family lives close. We only had to move one Christmas celebration. Katelyn got tons of super cute clothes and toys. She doesn't have a clue but her mommy and daddy really appreciate it. She went to bed at 7 tonight after all the festivities. I imagine her little body is sore from being passed around for 3 days straight. She was such a trooper. Merry Christmas Baby Girl!

Someone has lost all of her hair.......
Katelyn was born with a head full of dark hair. Everyone said it would probably fall out, but I thought surely it won't all fall out. Well, it did. Here is our little bald headed baby. Guess it is time to start wearing some bows. I wonder what her new hair will look like.

Somebody likes sleeping in her big crib now.....
So at month 3 I finally got Katelyn to start staying in her crib longer than 30 minutes. She will sleep all night in it now or at most only gets up once in the night. Hallelujah!!!!! Life is much better having our room back to normal and seeing sweet Katelyn sprawled out in her crib.
Someone Loves Their Daddy...
Katelyn and her Daddy have really hit it off. I knew Brian would be a good Daddy but I wasn't sure how he would do with the baby stage. To my delight, he does great with her. I have 100% confidence leaving Katelyn with him. He calls her "Baby Girl".

How could I forget a Halloween Post?
Ms. Katelyn enjoyed her first Halloween. We dressed her up like a pink leopard and took her to the grandparents houses. Thank you MeMe Sandy for the costume!

12 Weeks Old
Katelyn is 12 weeks old today and growing like a weed. People have started asking me if she is rolling over yet and it made me realize, we don't put her down on the ground enough for her to even try. Don't get me wrong, we don't hold her all the time, we just don't let her spread out much. So now I make a point to let her spread out on a blanket on the floor and kick til her hearts content. So maybe we will have some rolling over activities to report soon. Katelyn slept for 7 hours straight 3 nights in a row. I don't know if we are going to continue this, but I will take what I can get. She is such a good baby and brings such joy to Brian and I.
New Shoes
Aunt Sarah went to the Mavs Game and brought Katelyn back her first pair of basketball shoes. Thanks Aunt Sarah!

Adventures in Babysitting.........
Well, I started back to work 2 weeks ago and life has been pretty hectic ever since. I only work 3 days a week but it is still hard getting back in the swing of things. I was taking Katelyn to a church daycare but decided I would rather have her at home while she is so little. I called a girl named Kristin I know from Iowa Park that has worked at daycares in the past and asked her if she would be interested in being my nanny 3 days a week. She happens to be taking a couple semesters off school and jumped at the opportunity. I couldn't be happier with the arrangement. I know Katelyn is getting one on one attention and I don't have to take her out of the house in the mornings. What a blessing! Kristin has worked out great so far. My friend LeAnn told me to call her if Kristin ever called in sick or anything and I already had to take her up on her offer the first week. Poor Kristin got the stomach bug that is going around and couldn't keep Katelyn today so LeAnn bailed me out. I am posting some cute pics that LeAnn took to chronicle her day keeping Katelyn and her nephew, Owen. So funny!

8 Weeks.....
Katelyn is 8 weeks old this week. Time is going by so fast! Week 8 means the end of my maternity leave, which makes me very sad. Fortunately my boss is going to allow me to work 3 days a week until the end of the year and then I will go to 4 days a week. I am very thankful he is allowing me to have more time at home with Ms. Katelyn. I know she will be in good hands while I am working, but I still hate the thought of being away from her. On a brighter note, Katelyn got a new cousin(actually 2nd cousin) since my last post. Kylie Mills was born on October 1st to Michael and Ashley Mills. I am so excited about Katelyn having a little cousin who will be so close to her age. We also found out my sister will be adding to the mix with a new baby in June!!! So exciting! Hayden keeps telling everyone he is going to be a sister, which really means he wants a sister. I guess we will start having to make reservations for babysitting at Grandmas when all these babies get here. Ha!

Barnyard Birthday Party
Katelyn got to attend her very first friend birthday party at 6 and a half weeks old. Her future best friend, Savannah turned 1. So maybe Katelyn wasn't quite big enough to enjoy all of the animals at the petting zoo or the bounce house, we still had a great time. Thanks Johnson family for inviting us!!!

6 weeks old this week......
Well Miss Katelyn will turn 6 weeks old on Wednesday this week. My how time flies. I have 3 more weeks of maternity leave left. Booo! Not looking forward to having to leave her but I know it is inevitable. I am hoping since my job is so flexible I will still get to spend lots of time with her. Katelyn is a great baby. The only time she cries is when she is hungry or has a dirty diaper. I hear not all babies are like that. She is now sleeping 4 hours at a time at night now, so that is much better. I am contemplating moving her to her crib very soon. She doesn't really sleep that well in her bassinet anymore but her crib seems so far away even though it is just one room over. Maybe I will move her before I go back to work. She has started smiling at us this week. Not just when she has gas, but actually smiles when we are talking to her. I just love it! We don't go back to Dr. Yap until 8 weeks so I have no idea how much she weighs but she seems to be filling out. She can no longer wear the onesies she was wearing when she came home from the hospital. It really does go by fast.

Cousins...Hayden and Katelyn
Well Hayden has turned out to be quite the big cousin for Katelyn. He wasn't too sure about her at first and wanted nothing to do with her. Sure, he still does the occasional "I don't want baby to go with us today," but for the most part he thinks she is pretty cool. Whenever she cries, he runs up to her, gives her a hug and says "It's alright, I'm here." It is soo cute Katelyn is 4 weeks old this week so I thought I would post some pics of her and her big cousin, Hayden. Hayden calls her Baby Tatewyn. Love it!

2 Week Checkup
Katelyn had her 2 week check up with Dr. Yap today. She is up to 8 lbs and 2 ounces. He said she was perfect. (we already knew that). He said all of her measurements are average but her height is above average. The appointment went great except for the mean lady in the lab that took blood from her foot. I would hate to have to do that job. We went and visited my work today as well as my mom's work. Katelyn got passed around but didn't seem to mind it to much. It is nice to be able to get out of the house now. It takes longer than it used to to get ready but once we are out, everything is good. She is sleeping in 3 hour intervals at night now so Mommy is feeling much better. We are having so much fun with her and I know it will keep getting better.

One Week Down.....
Well, we survived our first week! Katelyn is such a blessing and we love her more than we could have ever imagined possible. However, this baby stuff is tough. Dealing with the soreness of labor, learning how to breastfeed, and running off hardly any sleep can really take its toll. It is totally worth it of course and seems to get better everyday. Katelyn and I are getting used to each other and we are developing a routine. Thought I would post some more pics. Enjoy!

Katelyn Grace has arrived......
Katelyn made her debut into the world on Wednesday August 19th around 2:45pm. We finally got to go to the hospital for an induction on Tuesday night. That was the earliest they had a bed for us. Dr Lamar broke my water around 9:00am on Wednesday and by 2:20pm I was fully dialated and ready to push. I only pushed for about 10 minutes. Thank goodness! The actual delivery was easy but the labor part was terrible. Thank goodness for modern medicine. Once I got my epidural, life was good. All of the staff at United Regional were amazing. We had tons of visitors and finally got to come home around 1:00pm on Friday afternoon. It has been an awesome experience and we just think she is perfect! I have been experiencing some pretty sleepless night so far waiting for my milk to come in but we are learning and couldn't be happier with our little bundle of joy! Brian has been so helpful. He is going to be such a great dad. Thank you to everyone who has visited, called, etc. This little girl has no idea how many people love her and her parents. We appreciate everything! I will try my best to update atleast once a week. Stay tuned.

Waiting Game...........
Well, I sit at home on Friday night waiting and wondering when Katelyn is going to make her entrance into the world. I am so ready to meet her but I am also starting to get anxious about how she is going to get here. I am scheduled to be induced on Tuesday, the 18th if she doesn't decided to come this weekend. I was not dialated at my appointment on Wednesday and I don't really feel any differently, so I doubt she will be coming on her own, but she could surprise us. It is a weird feeling knowing this is our last weekend without a child. I know our life is going to change drastically but we are ready. I just know we will wonder how we ever lived without her pretty soon. Hopefully, the next time I blog it will be to post new pictures of our little girl. Wish us luck!!!!

Nursery Pics and Update......
So as promised I am posting a few nursery pics. The room is pretty small but I think it turned out pretty cute! Now for the baby update, I went to the Dr. on Monday and was 80% effaced but still not dialated. He said that could change overnight. I go back next Wednesday and if there is still no change we will pick my induction date. He said we could do it as early as the 16th which is my actual due date. So long story short, we will know a date by next Wednesday if nothing happens before.

One More Baby Shower, Only 2 weeks to go......
I had my last baby shower last week. My great coworkers threw me one and did an awesome job. I got lots of cute stuff and enough gift cards to pretty much finish off my registry. This baby stuff is expensive! My friend Yvonne at the Basketcase is wanting to start offering Baby Bellycasting. I have gotten to be her model these last couple of months. The 3 belly casts lying on the table are me. She painted the one on the left to match my nursery. So cute!!!!! I already have it hanging on the nursery wall. The new hospital opens on Monday and Brian is back in town so I would be fine having this baby anytime now. The swollen ankles and overall discomfort have ran their course. Being pregnant has been a neat experience, but I am ready to move to the next step. We can't wait to meet Katelyn Grace!!!! I will try to post nursery pics this week.

Brian is Going out of town for Work!
Brian had to go out of town for work so I figured we better get him in on some maternity pics fast since I only have a month left. My sister graciously took our pics in my Mom's backyard. She did a great job! Brian will get back in town 2 weeks before my due date, so hopefully Katelyn will cooperate and wait for her Daddy to get home. I have lots of nesting plans while he is gone. Hopefully I can finish the nursery up and get everything nice and neat while he is gone.
